How is The 2017 Nissan Armada?

The 2016 Chicago Auto Show was the ideal place to announce several important models that were about to be released. One of them was the important renovation of the 2017 Armada. After more than a decade, Nissan decided to refresh the same old SUV and make it a proper model for these modern times.

As we can all notice, this revamped 2017 Armada is based on the actual Patrol model, which is something to be grateful for. While the designed changed, the dimensions are also different as well. Now the Armada is smaller by 2.1 inches in the wheelbase. In other matters, it’s bigger instead. The length goes up to 208.9 inches, while the width increased by 0.6 inches, being almost imperceptible.

This engine is totally capable of producing up to 390 hp and a maximum torque of 401 lb-ft. The new numbers exposed represents a notorious boost from the previous power output, which was rated at 317 hp and 385 lb-ft.

Also, chrome detailing is abundant all over the exterior design, as usual for Nissan models.

The three trims available will offer a wide array of features and convenience items for each type of user. First, the SV base trim will feature a 13-speaker Bose sound setup, push-button engine start, navigation, rear-view camera, 18-inch wheels, a second-row curtain, heated front seats, and cloth upholstery.

Then, the SL variant will offer 20-inch wheels with painted finish, fog lamps, power liftgate, remote starting of the engine, and leather upholstery. Finally, the most expensive trim, the Platinum, delivers as standard 7-inch rear entertaining screens, machined 20-inch wheels, heated and cooled front seats, backup-collision assist, predictive forward collision assist, heated second-row seats, moonroof, adaptive cruise control, emergency auto-braking, and blind-spot warning.

Of course, at the moment of setting the unit and paying for it, several other convenience items could be available. Often, some of the features that come as standard on the upper trims could be available as optional for the cheaper variants.

The Bottom Line for the new Armada

The 2017 Armada is featuring the new face of the solid SUV, offering modernity and cutting-edge features. Nissan is launching it to compete directly with the Toyota Land Cruiser, so expect good off-road performance.
